The Dublin Conference on Internet Freedom, 18-19 June 2012
In the context of Ireland’s Chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore, T.D., will host a conference in Dublin Castle on Internet Freedom. 
Attendance will be drawn from experts and those working on internet governance issues in OSCE participating States, as well as civil society and representatives of the ICT and Media industries.  Programme details are available here

Speakers include Mr. Frank La Rue - UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression; Ms. Rebecca MacKinnon - Senior Fellow, New America Foundation, former CNN bureau chief in Beijing in Tokyo and co-founder of Global Voices Online; Mr. Nils Muižnieks - Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights; Mr. Cory Doctorow – Science fiction author, activist, journalist and blogger; , Mr. Alec Ross – Senior Advisor on Innovation in the office of US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton; and Ms. Sonia Flynn - Director of Online Operations, Facebook.  A large number of NGOs, internet activists and bloggers have been invited to the conference, some of whom will also speak as panellists.
