Firefox OS wins major operator backing
A group of 17 operators have committed to support Mozilla’s open web initiative, as the commercial launch of the first devices powered by its Firefox OS nears.

Nokia focuses on mass market with device update
Nokia unveiled four new devices which Stephen Elop, its CEO, said are designed to “inspire more people, at more prices, and ultimately capture more volume as well as value in the marketplace.”

Jolla chief warns of mobile "squeeze"Marc Dillon, CEO of Jolla, said that the mobile industry is in “what may be the last step in the golden age of ecosystems – what is happening now is that everybody is getting squeezed”.

Smartphone OS newcomers take centre stage
Executives from Mozilla, Ubuntu and Jolla took to the stage to discuss the potential for innovation in the mobile platform market, against the backdrop of a market that is currently dominated by giants Apple and Google.
