14 of Ireland’s most promising technology companies will this week present to an international investor audience as part of the 2013 UK & Ireland Tech Tour which will be launched in Dublin Castle tonight (Tuesday)  by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD.

The 14 Irish firms were selected following vigorous review process by the UK & Ireland Tech Tour’s selection committee, comprised of senior global venture capital and technology industry leaders. The reviews assessed the uniqueness of technology, strength of their business model, vision, capability to execute on the business plan and the quality of the management team and track record. 

The Irish firms are: Accuris Networks, Brite Bill, Inhance Technology, NewsWhip, OpenJaw Technologies, OptiWi-fi, PathXL, Rainsafe, SixMinute, Swrve New Media, Trustev, VideoElephant, Waratek and WholeWorldBand.

Tech Tour, the European organisation, which offers an investor platform to existing and emerging technology companies, announced a total of 27 across the UK and Ireland. The presenting companies represent the region’s most promising technology companies and have all been based or incubated in the UK and Ireland.

Over the three days the 27 companies will be introduced to over 60 key European, US and Asian investors and professionals who can assist in their global expansion. Over 100 companies from across the technology spectrum based in Ireland and the UK had submitted applications.

Tom Cusack, Manager, Scaling Department of Enterprise Ireland, is a member of the Selection Committee and said that, “Enterprise Ireland is delighted to be a partner on the tech tour which provides an excellent platform to showcase the high quality technology companies emerging from the Irish tech scene. Ireland is fast becoming the technology capital of Europe and we are delighted to see the tech tour coming to Dublin to support this.”

The Top 13 Emerging Technology Companies from the UK are: Clear Returns, Cloudsoft Corporation, Evanidus Ltd, IE-CHP,  mLED Ltd, MOFgen, Orthox Ltd, Peekabu Studios, Rathlin Medical, Sunamp, Taragenyx Limited,Trident Energy Ltd and VueKlar Cardiovascular.

The 27 selected companies span several technology sectors and stages including: 33% Expansion, 52% Start-up, and 15% Seed. From the 27 companies 14 are based in Ireland and 13 are based in the UK. Openet and Seebyte will also be showcased and present. In addition the following companies will be giving elevator pitches: BlikBook, Codbod Technologies, CogBooks Ltd, Inquisitive Systems, Intune Networks, PureVLC Ltd, QikServe and Rosslyn Analytics.

The UK & Ireland Tech Tour will take place September 17-20 in Dublin and Glasgow. Presentations will commence at the Digital Hub where delegates will be welcomed by the resident Chief Strategy Officer, Stephen Brennan. After a full day of presentations and networking the delegates are hosted by IDA Ireland, for a special event and dinner at the National Museum of Ireland. Presentations will continue at Wayra followed by a gala dinner at the Kelvin Grove with a welcome speech by Paul Lewis, Managing Director, Scottish Enterprise and a Keynote Speech by John Swinney, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment & Sustainable Growth in the Scottish Government.
