Disruptive Banking Service Holvi Arranges an Open House in Dublin

Company is looking to hire Irish talent to support upcoming launch

Holvi, the company revolutionising banking, is arranging an Open House at 2pm on the 12th of June at The Digital Hub, Roe Lane, Dublin 8. The event is aimed to hire Irish software and marketing professionals. Holvi CTO Tuomas Toivonen and CXO Mikko Teerenhovi are joining the event. The company is starting operations in Ireland this summer to prepare for the upcoming Irish launch later this year.

”Holvi Open House is also related to the fact that SumUp is relocating their office to Bulgaria. Good professionals are always hard to find and Ireland has relevant talent now available.” said Johan Lorenzen, Holvi CEO, ”We support the local ecosystem in the markets we enter. Of course disrupting the banking sector requires also special attitude which we aim to find from Ireland.”

Holvi has utilised the Pan-European Payment Services Directive to build a bank replacement that fundamentally rethinks the concept of a current account and the services built around it. The product is aimed particularly for small businesses and entrepreneurs, the segments poorest served by traditional banks.

”We have been following the discussion on overcoming the regulatory challenges and see it as a clear advantage that Holvi can be fully operational in Ireland since launch.” said Tuomas Toivonen, Holvi CTO "We are now recruiting technical, operations and marketing talent to grow the team and take Holvi to international markets."

Ireland is famous of supporting entrepreneurship and country’s population is known for rapidly adapting new digital products. Ireland has also 300 000 SMEs - makers and doers - just the kind of people Holvi is especially designed for. For these reasons Holvi has chosen Ireland to be one of the first European markets. Holvi is already operating in Finland and expanding to Ireland and Austria next.
