The Social Media Summit 2017 commenced  yesterday in Croke Park, Dublin. With attendee numbers reaching over 300, the Summit reached full capacity yesterday afternoon. Taking the stage yesterday was one of the world’s foremost experts on Facebook marketing and social media, and keynote speaker of the Summit, Mari Smith. Mari shared her knowledge for winning Facebook strategies to drive your business growth.

Also gracing the stage on the first day of the Summit were the Irish experts making waves in the social media landscape. These included Niall Harbison of Lovin Group, discussing how social scaled the Lovin Group, Gregory Owens of Twitter, talking Twitter and the Power of #NOW, and Andrea Finnegan of Airbnb who spoke about the importance of social media care for you business. Social media experts were also brought to the audience through the panel discussions dissecting the topics of “Dedicated Followers of Fashion” and “Agencies of Change”.

The event trended #1 in Ireland throughout the day, and even more impressively trended #50 worldwide.

In her opening remarks, Summit MC Samantha Kelly told the audience;

“Social media is rapidly growing in significance in the modern marketing mix.  Any business or influencer not developing and managing a social media strategy is going to find it very difficult to compete”

Day two of the Summit has begun this morning and the day will be focusing on masterclasses covering practical advice for the attendees. They can look forward to “Snapchat and Storytelling” with Daniel Knowlton, “The Future of Digital Video” from Greg Fry and “How to Build Valuable Relationships on Twitter” from summit founder, Samantha Kelly.
